I Never Made Any Statement Against Amaechi And There Is No Reason To - Shehu Sani

My attention has been drawn by a close friend to a statement against Rt Hon Rotimi Ameachi, Minister of Transport, credited to me.

The statement is nothing but absolute falsehood and a complete fabrication of those who authored it. I have never made such a statement and there is no reason to.

My views on local, national or international issues are always posted and pasted on my blog or social media handle of which there is none of this.

Those who want to fight "wars they need to fight" should have the courage to do so and not hide behind someone to fire their bullets.

I advice those mischief makers to stop using my name and desist from engaging in such defamatory and libelous statements against the Hon Minister.

Again, I'm restating that the statement is nothing but a thrash of falsehood.

NOBODY CAN STOP THE MOVING TRAIN, MAKARFI HAS COME TO STAY

The unfolding realities of these days have shown clearly that our party, Peoples Democratic Party is progressing. The party is seriously marching beyond the expectations of the adversaries.

The plan of the enemy is to see that the relative peace in PDP becomes pieces. But because the foundation of the party was solidly on sincerity and commitment to a better Nigeria, the party stays afloat amidst tempest.

My good brother, Femi Fani Kayode wrote an article earlier this year titled, "who has bewitched PDP?", I couldn't understand this reality until Alimodu Sheriff unleashed the witch in him. A supposed elderly statesman that has considered hooliganism as a means of getting what he does not deserve.

The PDP Governors Forum, Board of Trustee, Founding Fathers, Youths and every well-meaning members decided to resuscitate the party by given the leadership mantle to Amiable Senator Ahmed  Makarfi whom everybody believes that can save the present and project meaningfully into the future, but only one disgruntled element tries to thwart the people's choice. Someone should educate Alimodu Sheriff with the slogan of our party, Power Belongs Go the People.

The adversaries are trying to divide us against ourselves, they are taking the voracious ones as their ally, just because the prospective progress has become a threat to the misruling ruling party, this accounts for why the IG of Police called upon his boys to pave way for their agent to fulfil is heinous mission, but the wishes of the majority will always take the victory.

The PDP Governors Forum has been a key force on this emancipation mission, the Board of Trustee have shown that they are committed to the revivification mission. The youths of our dear party are ever ready to embrace and effect the new development, under Ahmed Makarfi, the sky will even be our starting point.

I earnestly urge the members, fans, supporters and apologists of Peoples Democratic Party across the globe to solidly stand behind Senator Ahmed Makarfi, our party is fast becoming what we hope for. We are going back to our rightful position because we have positioned not to be swayed by adversaries. Ahmed Makarfi is a moving train, PDP is marching forward.

Federal Government Committed To Niger Delta – Obuebite

The Federal Government has indicated its genuine commitment to addressing all issues that have led to the attacks on oil facilities by some aggrieved youth in the Niger Delta.

The Bayelsa State Commissioner of Information and Orientation, Mr. Jonathan Obuebite made the assertion in Government House while speaking to journalists shortly after the visit of the Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr. Ibe Kachiwku and the Special Adviser to the President on Amnesty Programme, General Paul Boroh (retired) on Tuesday, June 14, 2016.

Mr. Obuebite stressed the need for all parties involved in the peace process to put the development of the Niger Delta region first.

He said the decay of infrastructure and near absence of Federal Government presence in the state is as a result of several years of neglect by both government and the oil companies, pointing out that because of the years if neglect, it will take some time for government efforts to yield the desired result.

The Commissioner said that Bayelsa being the hob of the Izon nation is most affected by the activities of oil companies in the areas of pollution and environmental degradation.

He therefore urged the federal government to give the state a commensurate attention.

The commissioner called on the aggrieved youths not to do anything that would truncate the peace process, urging them to toe the line of peace and dialogue in the interest of the region.

He added that the continued destruction of oil facilities is affecting the economic fortunes of the region.

Commenting on the plaque which is the Bayelsa State Coat of Arms presented by the Governor Seriake Dickson to the minister, the commissioner said it symbolized the Ijaw man’s resilience, hard work and determination even in the face of environmental challenges.

Earlier in his comment, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachukwu had described the Bayelsa Coat of Arm as a real creative work.

Dr. Kachukwu, who described his visit as home coming, remarked that as a Niger Deltan himself, he shares the same feelings with the people, stressing that leaders at all levels have the responsibility to end the insecurity and violence through dialogue.

The Petroleum Minister, who is also the Group Managing Director of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation NNPC, disclosed that the recent crisis in the region has affected all sectors of the economy and appealed for a quick resolution of the issue.

Ambode At 53: PDP Congratulates And Admonish Him

The Lagos State chapter of Peoples Democratic Party has congratulated the governor of Lagos state, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, on his 53rd year birthday celebration which was celebrated by the governing organising a luncheon to raise funds for a cancer centre in the state. 

In a press released signed by the Lagos State PDP Publicity Secretary, Taofik Gani, he said that the Governor who clocked 53 years old has been described by the PDP as one who got into office in a very well contested election with his eventual declaration as governor seen by many observers as controversial. "More disturbing to us is that the governor's lowest point at this time is his neglect to conduct elections into the local government councils. This is long overdue". He should allow LASIEC to announce the election date this week to serve as his birthday cake to Lagosians"

The PDP however expresses the opinion that the Governor's choice to use the celebration to raise funds for cancer treatment in the state is commendable. Just as the PDP also opines that the governor has embarked on some attempts in order to justify his said election. "Observing these attempts, such as in the area of road rehabilitation with pedestrian bridge construction, we will give the governor the benefit of doubt that he is serious about serving the general interest and not Parochial or APC interest as did his predecessor. We will keep tab on his governance and commend or condemn same as applicable. In this period of his birthday celebration, we want to commend him and hope that he sees this assessment as challenge for him to perform better"

The PDP wishes the governor good health, sound mind and above all fear of God necessary for him to be responsive, productive and just to all. Happy birthday and many happy returns.

Federal Appointments: We Are Being Short Changed‎ - Bayelsa PDP Cries Out

The Bayelsa State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed dismayed at the continuous unpleasant attitude of the All Progressive Congress (APC) led government at the center, accusing it of side lining the state in federal appointments. 

The party also frowned at the way and manner the federal government has been managing the nation's economy which it noted is responsible for the inability of many states to meet its salary and other financial obligations to its workers and the state in general.

Chairman of the PDP in the State, Deacon Cleopas Moses in a statement cited the recent list sent to the senate as Ambassador nominees, saying no Bayelsa was among, a clear indication of the personal grudge the APC led federal government has for the state.

Moses queried the action and reason behind the decision, wondering if Bayelsa State does not have any career diplomat eligible to become an Ambassador and blasted the once "noisy" Bayelsa APC for partly being responsible for the development because of the pain of losing woefully the last governorship election.

He recalled that Governor Seriake Dickson had raised similar issue recently when he received the Head of Service of the Federation, when he decried the absence of a Bayelsan as Permanent Secretary in the Federal Civil Service.

The Bayelsa PDP chairman called on the state APC to immediately apologize to Bayelsans for its role in the lopesideness, adding that their self serving agenda which was also to embarrass former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has also landed them and their leader, Chief Timipre Sylva in uncertainty as they can only boast now of a junior minister.

The statement also appreciates the state government for the utmost display of good faith in honoring the agreement it had with labour leaders to pay fifty percent salaries of civil servants and pensioners gratuities.

It equally ‎commended Bayelsans for the show of maturity and understanding and further urged them not to relent in showing continuing support for the verification exercises going on with a view to curbing pay-roll fraud while enjoining everyone to positively look forward to better days ahead, and eschew attitudes inimical to the government's efforts.

The Bayelsa state PDP in the same vein lauded the restoration government under His Excellency, Hon.  Henry Seriake Dickson for the decorous and orderly manner in which they have been conducting themselves in this trying times.

NYSC: Tambuwal Doubles State Allawee

Sokoto government has jacked up allowances of youth corps members serving in the state, with a pledge to begin immediate payment of the new payment structure.

Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal announced the new policy during the swearing-in ceremony of 2006 Batch A Stream II corps members at the state NYSC orientation camp in Wamakko.

He said the state government appreciates the services of corps members and government will continue to make their welfare a top priority.

Tambuwal said the new increase affects all categories of youth corps members, with those serving in medical line getting more funds than others.

"Graduates of medicine will now be paid N50,000 from the current amount of N36,000. Pharmacists will now N25,000 up from the N19,000 obtainable in the past, while graduates of lab science and other medical technicians like nurses are now entitled to monthly stipend of N15,000, up from the current N9,000 they are getting from the state government.

"In the same vein, graduates of social science and humanities will now be paid N5,000 monthly, a one thousand addition from the previous N4,000 they receive from as state allawee.

While urging the youth corps members to reciprocate government gesture by being diligent in their areas of primary assignments, Tambuwal urged them to shun vices that will lead to breakdown of law and order and communal harmony.

"I urge you to shun militancy, terrorism and cultism. I also invite you explore Sokoto and study its rich history, culture and people," the Governor added.
