Our attention has been drawn to a meeting held today between Barr. Nyeson Wike, the embattled Governor of Rivers State, his Attorney General, Mr Chinwe Aguma, SAN, two of his media aides and selected Local Government Caretaker Committee Chairmen, which objective is to cause obstruction to the peaceful procession planned by Rivers people on Monday 30 November 2015 in remembrance of all those killed in Rivers State during the 2015 General Election.
Our
source revealed that Barr Wike gave the following directives:
1.
That the Attorney General should immediately approach the Acting Chief Judge of
Rivers State to procure an interim order of injunction (ex parte) restraining the
any procession in Rivers State on Monday. As we speak right now, the Attorney
General has detailed three (3) Lawyers from the Stare Ministry of Justice who
are working in the home of one of the Judges of the Rivers State High Court to
produce a purported Order of Injunction. The Order is expected to be perfected
tonight against Monday, HOWEVER, WE WISH TO NOTIFY THEM THAT WE HAVE OBTAINED
CLEAR EVIDENCE THAT AS AT CLOSE OF BANKING TODAY, NO PAYMENTS HAD BEEN MADE FOR
THE PROCESSES.
2.
That the Attorney General of Rivers State should immediately interface with the
Inspector General of Police (whom Wike supporters boast is a very loyal friend
and sympathizer of Wike's course) and the Assistant Inspector General of
Police, Zone 6 Calabar to ensure that the peaceful procession tagged
"RIVERS BLACK DAY" does not hold. The information has it that the
Attorney General is already on his way to Abuja to meet with the IGP.
3.
That his media aides should do everything humanly possible to dissuade Rivers
people from participating in the RIVERS BLACK DAY procession, including launch
an anti campaign in the Social Media. To achieve this, one of Barr. Wike's
Media aides, Mr. Oraye St. Franklin, who in collaboration with one Ross Alabo
George operates a pseudo Facebook account with the name: RIVERS AMACHREE, has
criminally issued a FALSE AND MALICIOUS Press Statement, where he called on
Rivers People not to honour the RIVERS BLACK DAY procession, by impersonating
and purporting same to have been issued by the Publicity Secretary of APC, Mr.
Chris Finebone, knowing same to be false.
4.
That the selected Caretaker Committee Chairman, especially of Obio/Akpor, Port
Harcourt, Ikwerre, Emohua, Okrika, Etche, Ogu/Bolo, Omuma, Degema, Akuku and
Asari should mobilize some miscreants ON THE SAME ROUTE OF THE RIVERS BLACK DAY
procession in the pretense that they are carrying out a procession tagged:
NIGERIA JUDICIARY MUST STOP THE GANG UP AGAINST WIKE
What
is Governor Wike's grouse that Rivers People are mourning their dead? Barr. Wike
and his allies said they didn't kill our brothers and sisters; that the
deceased "killed themselves". Should we not be ALLOWED SOME PEACE to
reason together and talk to ourselves ON WHY SOME OTHERS AND INDEED THE REST OF
US MUST NOT "KILL OURSELVES " AGAIN , NO MATTER THE REASON AND THE
SAKE?
Wike let us be, allow us to mourn our dead in peace.
Wike let us be, allow us to mourn our dead in peace.
In
the circumstance, we are hereby calling on Mr. President; The Director General,
Department Of State Services; Inspector General of Police, to call Barr Nyesom
Wike to order and allow rivers people mourn their dead.
Enough
is enough. We cannot continue to fold our arms and watch while a negligible few
would continue to terrorize the majority of rivers people because they bear
arms.
The
IGP and the Nigerian state must protect us now or we shall be left with no
other option than to protect ourselves. Enough is enough.
Mr.
President, Mr. IGP, the Attorney General of the Federation; we urge you to
bring to book all those who were involved in the killing of these innocent,
unsuspecting and harmless citizens. This is our demand.
