How We Were Attacked By APC Thugs - Osun PDP Chairman

Hon Soji Adagunodo

The Osun State Peoples Democratic Party   has alerted the security agencies and the general public the heinous crimes committed by thugs on the payroll of Governor Rauf Aregbesola against innocent members of the PDP Thursday  in Osogbo.

According to a statement signed by the Chairman PDP Osun State, Hon Soji Adagunodo, he said that after a very successful rally by the Governorship candidate of PDP, Senator Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke on Thursday 13th September at Isale Osun area of Osogbo, hoodlums wearing APC caps and vests adorned with the picture of its candidate unleashed unimaginable violence on the entourage of PDP Governorship candidate and the State party Chairman at the Isale Osun junction.

“The thugs broke the windscreen of several vehicles in our convoy and injured many PDP members especially women who were leaving the venue of the rally.

“We have been able to confirm the identity of the leaders of the thugs as General Base ( whom we gathered was imported from the Niger Delta) ; Sodiq Austine , Abul Olota, Carlous,Jimoh SAS, Afeez Olufimo and Asiri Eniba.

“The general public will recall that we recently raised an alarm about the threat posed to the security of Osun state by the hordes of thugs imported into the state by the APC ahead of its electioneering campaign.

“We had expected that the Police and other security agencies would move in to arrest these hoodlums especially knowing full well that Governor Aregbesola has since forsaken his responsibilities to ensure safety of lives and property of the People of Osun state.

“It is therefore expedient that we call the attention of the Inspector General of Police and the Director-General of the State security service to the increasing spate of political violence orchestrated and perpetrated by the All Progressive Congress.

“We also wish to call the attention of the International community to this growing threat to the Peaceful conduct of the Governorship election in Osun state.

“We also wish to assure millions of our supporters and members that we remain undaunted in the sacred task of redeeming Osun state from the forces of darkness whose most visible achievements are bloodletting and destruction.

“We expect that the Security agencies will perform their constitutional duties without bias and partisanship so as to avoid a situation where innocent citizens will be forced to resort to self defence, the statement concluded.
