The Nigeria Police has paraded one Ismail Yakubu of Waru Village, Apo District, Abuja who was the Informant that gave false information and telling falsehood to misleading the Police action.
At a press briefing on Wednesday in Abuja, the Force Public Relations Officer, Ag. DCP Jimoh Moshood also released the names of Police Officers involved in the raid as; ASP David Dominic, Inspr Godwin Musa, Inspr Sada Abubakar and Inspr Yabo Paul.
The Force Spokesperson further said that any officer who is to carry out the execution of search warrant must follow the laid down procedures within the law. Where such is not followed, such an officer must be made to face the consequences of violating the rule of law.
He also said that the Officer that led the team has been queried and the three Inspectors are currently undergoing orderly trial for the appropriate punishment to be meted out on them.
It will be recalled that media on Tuesday 4th and Wednesday 5th September, 2018 reported the raid on the Abuja residence of former Federal Commissioner for Information and South-South Leader, Elder Statesmen, Chief Edwin Clark.
On Tuesday evening, the Inspector General of Police sent high powered delegation, led by DIG Josak Habila, DIG Operations and other Senior Police Officers to apologize to Chief Edwin Clark over the search by the mentioned Four Police Personnel and an informant roles in the unauthorized, illegal and unprofessional misconduct in the Search of the Residence in Asokoro, Abuja on the 4th of September, 2018.
"The informant (suspect), Ismail Yakubu - Informant from Waru Village, Apo District, Abuja will be arraigned in court this morning for giving false information and telling falsehood to mislead police action, Ag. DCP Moshood concluded
