Senator Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke has felicitated with muslims worldwide on the new Islamic year today Tuesday, 11th September 2018 (i.e. 1st Muharram, 1440 Anno Hijrae).
In the Hijrah message which he signed personally ,the governorship candidate of the People's Democratic Party described the new Islamic year as positively symbolic in many ways for muslims in Osun state even as he calls on Muslim faithfuls to mark the day in solemn prayers and supplications to Almighty Allah.
He noted that today is an opportunity to rededicate our lives to the service of Almighty Allah for the new calendar year and beyond, describing our existence as meaningful ad rewarding only if we serve our creator in our daily engagements.
Praying for divine light in the lives of every Muslims, Senator Nurudeen Adeleke said Osun state and Nigeria as a whole need divine light to confront and tackle myriads of problems facing her.
"We need Almighty Allah more than ever before in our daily lives.The tumoil and dislocations facing our society demand solemn divine intervention.We need the divine light,the mercy of Allah to reset our society for the good of all and in service of our creator",he said.
He commended the Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs in Nigeria (NSCIA), Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III,the President of League of Imams and Alfas in Old Western region and Osun state as well as leading clerics and Islamic organisations for keeping the flame of divine light glowing in our society.
"As we start the new Islamic year,I pray that bountiful divine blessings, direction and light will accompany us as we deploy our skils and time in service of the Almighty Allah who created us basically to serve him",Senator Adeleke noted.
