A renowned Engineer, who is also a former Head of the Federal Road Maintenance Agency, FERMA, Engr. Kabir Abdullahi Barkiya has emerged as the All Progressives Congress Flag bearer for the Katsina Central Senatorial Seat.
Barkiya who contested along other 3 candidates secured 1466 votes while Rtd. Colonel Abdul Aziz Yar'Adua score 913, Senator Ibrahim Muhammad Ida 897 and Senator Umar Kurfi Enzarabe who is the serving Senator representing the Zone score 141 votes.

Katsina Media and Publicity had on Sunday reported Governor Aminu Bello Masari as the winner of the State gubernatorial primarily election in the State where he called on the delegates to vote for competency as he has no any interest other than that of Katsina.
