Delta PDP Campaign Organization Assures Deltans Of Okowa, PDP's Readiness For Elections

.... Says no cause for alarm, as Elders, Leaders, Supporters endorsed Okowa, Atiku for 2019 polls 

The Delta State Delta PDP Campaign Organization Assures  Deltans Of Okowa, PDP's Readiness For Elections Democratic Party, PDP Campaign organization, has assured Deltans that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa is fully prepared to contest the 2019 Governorship elections in the State, and is supremely confident of coasting home to another comprehensive victory and a well deserved second term, even as the party has cautioned troublemakers intent on sabotaging the 2019 elections to steer clear of Delta State, warning that Deltans are more prepared now than ever before to protect their votes and deal decisively with any identified saboteur or groups of saboteurs, who will attempt to disrupt the process or intimidate the people from participating in a free and fair election in the State.

These admonitions were contained in a statement issued and signed by the Director of Publicity, Delta State PDP Campaign Organization, Dr. Ifeanyi M. Osuoza, in his reaction to the mammoth crowd that turned out, led by the undisputed National Leader of the PDP and former Governor of Delta State Chief James Onanefe Ibori, to witness and participate in the hugely successful flag off of the PDP Campaign for the 2019 general elections, at the Oghara stadium, in Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State on Friday January 4, 2018.

Dr. Osuoza said: "Today, January 4, 2018, we flagged off our campaign for the 2019 general elections in Oghara and from the mammoth crowd you saw at the stadium and the outpouring of love and jubilation from the good people of Oghara, led by our indefatigable National Leader and former Governor, His Excellency, Chief James Onanefe Ibori, the Odidigboigbo of the universe, it is now crystal clear that Deltans love our dear Governor Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, the Ekwueme himself, and have already endorsed him for a second tenure to continue the good work he is doing in Delta State".

According to Osuoza, "One good term deserves another and here in Oghara today, Deltans have spoken with one voice, echoed by the Odidigboigbo, who affirmed confidently that Governor Okowa will not only lead the other PDP candidates to Victory in the forthcoming polls, but that the re-election of Governor Okowa to enable him to consolidate on the impressive gains already achieved and deliver more democratic dividends to Deltans with the SMART Agenda, is already assured.”

The PDP Campaign Organization Publicity Director noted that Chief Ibori was speaking the mind of Deltans when he said that he had no question in his mind that Okowa has done exceedingly very well, adding that the Delta State governor had already displayed the same impressive competence, capability, knowledge and capacity in his first term, which he would bring to bear on his second term and all the leaders, stakeholders, party members and Deltans were pleased with him.

"The Delta State PDP Campaign Organization wish to express our undiluted gratitude to Chief James Ibori, our National Leader for standing firm as the head of the PDP Political family in Delta State on the side of equity in the power rotation arrangement which has contributed greatly to the peace in Delta State today, for the overwhelming vote of confidence reposed in the ability and leadership competence of Governor Okowa to complete his well deserved second tenure and take Delta State to greater heights through the SMART Agenda and indeed for his declaration and decree that our governor has all it takes to lead this battle for all the candidates of our party to win in the 2019 elections convincingly. We join our National Leader to seek the blessings of God to continue to guide our governor and uplift him to victory,” Osuoza noted with humility.

The statement by the Delta PDP Campaign Organization image maker, also sent a serious note of warning to those who were already preparing to ferment trouble with the intent to disrupt the elections or intimidate Deltans during the elections, even as he stated categorically that while the PDP was ready to abide by the laid down rules of due process and free and fair elections, this decision to abide by the rules should not be interpreted by the opposition as a sign of weakness, as the party was well prepared to defend the sovereignty of Delta State and ensure the independence of every eligible Delta voter to freely exercise their civic responsibilities and cast their votes for the candidates of their choice without fear or coercion.

“The Delta PDP Campaign Organization, wish to join our leaders to state categorically that Delta State is a peaceful and peace-loving State and Deltans are law-abiding citizens who believe in due process and abhor intimidation of any kind. It is on this note that we wish to echo the appeal of our leaders to all intending troublemakers that please, in the name of God, don't come to Delta State to cause trouble. This is a democracy and our advice to those seeking to occupy office is to join us and make this elections campaign an issue-based one by telling the people what you will do and by selling your programmes to the people, instead of nursing any untoward intentions to cause trouble.

"We are happy to note that all the major political parties in the forthcoming elections have already dedicated their campaigns and indeed the 2019 elections to God and we want to assure Deltans that God will not allow anybody that is planning anything that is bad for our State to succeed even as we call on our people to be vigilant, courageous and fearless in the defence of their mandate.

 "We want to express our profound gratitude to Deltans for the overwhelming support and landslide mandate they gave us in 2015 and thank you all for the support which we have enjoyed right from the very early days when we battled to bring our State out of the recession which was exacerbated by the clueless, visionless and inept policies and misgovernance of the APC at the centre, to these happy days when we can proudly beat our chest and boast that we are not owing salaries of our workers both at the State and Local Governments, we have made pensioners happy, we have created jobs for thousands of Delta youths, empowered our women and farmers with Micro Credit and built first class, enduring and state-of-the-art infrastructural facilities, upgraded our health and educational institutions and delivered many more democracy dividends across the three senatorial zones in our State.

“We have kept our promise to Deltans but we know there is still a lot more to be done and the only way to ensure that we can get the job done and bring more prosperity for our people is to vote out the APC at the national level and bring in a man and a team who know how to get Nigeria working again, by voting for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Mr. Peter Obi in the Presidential elections. We have suffered too much at the hands of this APC government and Deltans must join the rest of Nigeria to say enough is enough of the hardships and the killings and the hopelessness which we are going through now. Okowa is ready. Atiku is ready. PDP is ready to take over Nigeria and bring succour and more prosperity back to Nigerians and Deltans.  

“The PDP Campaign organization wish to thank all our eminent leaders, elder statesmen and women, youths, women, our students, Nollywood Stars, and all our party faithful and teeming supporters,  who turned out massively and made our campaign flag off in Oghara a resounding success. This is just the beginning of the Campaign and we want to assure Deltans that we will campaign comprehensively across the length and breadth of our State and reach every nook and cranny, selling our candidates and telling Deltans what we are going to do for them when we win again. We will make this an issue-based campaign so that Deltans can decide for themselves, which party is truly ready and on the ground and working and which party is preparing to make trouble and disrupt the elections.

We want Deltans to know that there is no cause for alarm and we are ready to bring about unprecedented development in the next four years. But we cannot do it alone and that is why we want to join our leader and governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa to promise you that working with you all Deltans and with God on our side, we will build a Stronger Delta that we will all be proud of and others will emulate.
