Rivers Black Monday....PDP Plots To Stop APC Supporters

While leaders and members of the Rivers State APC troop out in their numbers this early morning to commence the procession aimed at commemorating the slain heroes of Change during the last general elections in the state, it is clear that the ruling party in the state, PDP under Chief Nyesom Wike have concluded plans to botch the much publicised event scheduled to take place in Port Harcourt today.

Security reports filtered in this morning confirmed that in some of the Riverine areas, the Caretaker Chairmen have ordered commercial bus drivers in their domain to desist from conveying APC supporters to Port Harcourt for the program. In Akuku Toru, one Rowland Sekibo, the Caretaker Chairman and an avowed hitman of the former Minister of Sports, Tammy Danagogo, this morning, led over 100 youths to stop APC supporters from using the buses hired to convey them to the State capital. He was alleged to have also provided logistics for the PDP youths to ensure that their aim of scuttling the program is achieved.
It was the same Rowland who led the violence that characterised the last elections in Akuku Toru LGA under the orders and watchful eyes of the former Minister.

In Asari Toru, the story is not different as  the controversial Caretaker Chairman, Sobomabo Jackrice alias Egberi Papa, an ex militant leader, also order APC members to disembark from the hired buses while threatening the bus drivers of losing their right to use the motor parks in the area.
It is definitely a period of renewed militancy and violence IN Rivers State with the return of these blood thirsty men in power under Nyesom Wike.

Though the security agencies are battling to forestall a breakdown of law and order, it is not certain that all the DPOs are working in tandem with the orders of the Security Chiefs who endorsed the APC event. Recall that some of the DPOs and other officers were willing tools in the hands of the PDP led Federal Government when Wike desperately tried to sack former Governor Amaechi as the Chief Security Officer of the State.

The APC has vowed to go on with the program as a mark of honor for those who lost their lives while trying to exercise their constitutional rights to belong to any party of their choice. Over 100 persons including Police officers were brutally killed during the electioneering period.

Though the Security agencies are organs of the APC federal government, it is clear now in Rivers State that while the law belongs to them(APC), the guns definitely belong to the PDP in the state. Which is superior? The public is watching. Will members of Rivers APC be murdered again? How long will it take for justice to come the way of those whose only sin was that they chose to support President Buhari over former President Jonathan? The entire world is waiting!
