Minna- Bida Road Construction Begins

.....A..Gov Sani Bello urges timely completion according to specification.

Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger State has urged Dantata and Sawoe, contractors handling the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the Minna - Bida road to expedite action and ensure that the project is delivered in good time and according to specification.

The Governor's appeal is coming as the construction firm begins work on the 82 kilometers road which is expected to be completed in 18 months.

Governor Sani Bello, in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mrs. Mary Noel Berje, underscored the socioeconomic importance of the road and the need for its timely completion.

"As you mobilised to site and began construction, it must be emphasized that the road means a lot to all of us because, as you are aware, it serves as the major road linking the southwest and the northern parts of the country and its completion will bring succour to us and improve the economic activities".

The Governor also enjoined villages, towns and communities along the route of the road construction as well as other road users to cooperate and assist the company, where necessary, to facilitate and fast track its completion.

He expressed the present administration's commitment to ensuring that the road project, which is costing the state government N23.9Billion, is delivered for the overall benefit of the people.

Dantata and Sawoe Construction Company was awarded the Minna - Bida road project earlier this year after following all due process in line with the state government's transparency and due diligence.
