The Progressive Ambassadors of Nigeria (PAN) has appreciated all the people of Edo State for reaching the twilight of the campaigns for the governorship elections peacefully.
In a press release signed by PAN National Director, Media, Emmanuel Imevbore Ohiomokhare, he said that the organization recognises and appreciates the efforts put in by political parties in campaigns and appreciate their commitments to peaceful elections as seen in the various peace accords.
The statement read, "The Progressive Ambassadors of Nigeria makes a PASSIONATE APPEAL to all relevant Stakeholders, respective Governorship Candidates and particularly the EDO Electorates for a peaceful, transparent, credible and conscience-driven conduct of the forthcoming Saturday's Governorship election in the State.
"The Progressive Ambassadors of Nigeria wishes to remind Edo people that the future of the entire Edo State for the next four years rests solely on the individuals' choices to be made, which majority outcome shall determine the next Executive Governor of the State. The collective future of Women and Youths in particular shall be determined through the ballot box on Saturday.
"In view of that, it is important to understand that religion, political Party, ethnicity, money politics and tribal sentiments should not take the place of competence, credibility, proven integrity, tested character and good conscience in determining the choice of the next Governor of Edo people.
"The Independent National Electoral Commission, being our electoral umpire -whom we believe is ready for Saturday's poll and in full support, is hereby urged to ensure transparent and credible conduct of the polls. Respective Security and Law Enforcement Agencies are equally urged to place the sanctity and priority of Edo People uppermost, and refrain from being used by any political party to compromise the choice of Edo People and their future.
"The Progressive Ambassadors of Nigeria therefore wishes the good People of Edo State a very peaceful, transparent, participatory and successful polls, the statement concluded
