Autism Support School Marks 10th Anniversary, Launches Fund For New Building, State-Of-The-Art Facilities



The Hope House Initiative, an educational support school for children with special needs celebrates its tenth year anniversary and fund raising at the Shehu Musa Yar'Adua Centre on Friday, 4 December, 2015.
A press statement signed by one of the Directors of the school, and wife of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Chief Mrs. Amina Atiku Abubakar, says that Hope House Initiative will use the auspicious occasion to launch a fund raising for a new building and state-of-the-art facilities for its students.
 The Hope House Initiative is a philanthropic, non-governmental organization that assists children with learning difficulties to acquire life skills for better control of their lives.
According to the statement, the school, which started ten years ago, is a self-help project of parents of special needs children who had the vision that their children can be educated to overcome their challenges.
“In the past ten years, Hope House has, with the outstanding personal engagement of parents; the commitment of dedicated staff members; assistance of philanthropic individuals and corporations, developed into an initiative with great achievements.
“Today, Hope House Initiative is growing and needs to reach out to further heights, especially a bigger building with more state-of-the-art facilities for the benefit of our pupils. Planned facilities include workshops for vocational training, a boarding house to provide shelter and security, physiotherapy laboratory to enable improved continuation with our vision,” the release concluded.
