IGP Idris Attends 87th Interpol General Assembly In Dubai, UAE.

The 87th Interpol General Assembly 2018 kicked  started on Sunday in Dubai, UAE, by His Highness, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Ruler of the Emirate of Dubai.

Dubai, which is hosting the General Assembly of the international Police for the first time, is bringing together officials of public security departments and global experts, to discuss important safety and security issues, particularly in areas that affect the fight against terrorism and organized crime.

Participants would rub minds on how best to enhance cooperation and make the world a safer place. Since he assumed office as the 19th indigenous Inspector General of Police, IGP Ibrahim Kpotun- Idris has not relented in seeking synergy and collaboration with leaders and security experts from across the globe, to discuss security challenges and make efforts to combat organized crime.

It is through such efforts, that the menace of kidnapping is being checkmated in Nigeria and that was how the notorious billionaire transnational kidnapper, alias Evans, who is currently facing trial was captured. With the general elections in Nigeria coming soon and the growing concern over thuggery and other election related violence, the Nigeria police under the watch of IGP Idris is determined to ensure that the electorates are not denied the desired environment, that is conducive and secured for the exercise of their civic responsibilities.

It is in the pursuit of such endeavors, that the number one police officer of the country, led the delegation of his officers to Dubai, for information sharing and the rapid development of knowledge, especially intelligence and technology based knowledge, which seeks to anticipate future challenges, potential threats and the trend of election related crimes.

The proactivity of IGP Idris has made him to be the IGP that held more elections than any of his predecessors in the history of Nigeria, all of which have been relatively successful in terms of peace and security.
