The Katsina State Governor, Rt. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari was in Funtua this morning to sympathise with the victims of the fire incident that occurred yesterday evening.
Katsina Media and Publicity reports that the fire incident razed over 100 shops in the popular Funtua General Hospital Market in Funtua town.
The cause of the fire is still unknown. Our Correspondents gathered that the fire started at about 7.30PM and lasted almost two hours, damaging properties worth millions of naira.
The Governor in company of some State Government Officials had today visited the scene to meet the victims and assure them of the State Government's support by reconstructing the burnt shops to enable the return of the day to day activities in the Market.
@katgovmedia gathered that the State Emergency Management Agency and Katsina State Urban and Regional Planning Board (KURB) had been directed by the Governor to evaluate the actual lost and take the next step of replacing the lost so as to ensure the successful return of business in the market.
