NAWOJ Recognizes Gov Abubakar Sani Bello's Women Inclusiveness In Governance

The 10th Triennial Delegates Conference of the Nigerian Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) might have come and gone but its memories will sure last long in the minds of the Niger State Governor Abubakar Sani Bello and Nigerlites in general

This is so due to some significant reasons.

The NAWOJ National Conference was successfully hosted by the Niger State Chapter due to the tremendous support of the State government.

The Delegates Conference was declared opened by the Governor represented by his Deputy Ahmed Mohammed Ketso.

Governor Abubakar Sani Bello was also among the three State Governors that were identified and recognized with award of Excellence.

The award was specifically for being the most supportive and Gender friendly Governor.

No doubt Governor Abubakar Sani Bello deserves the award, going by his track records in appointing women in various leadership positions in the State.

The Governor did not only appoint women, he broke the jinx by appointing women as Head of Service and his Chief Press Secretary for the first time since the creation of the State about 45years ago

He has good number of Female Commissioners, permanent secretaries and heads of agencies among others.

It is hoped that the NAWOJ award will spur the Administration of Governor Abubakar Sani Bello to take more deliberate actions that will increase women participation in governance.

Kano and Kwara State Governors were also awarded for having high number of women inclusiveness in governance in their respective State.
