NITDA Boss Directs eGovernment Capacity Building Programme For States

The Director-General of the National Information Technology Development Agency NITDA Mallam  Kashifu  Inuwa Abdullahi,  has directed that the eGovernment  capacity  building  programme for public servants at national level should go down to state level so that state governments can key into it and make it beneficial in their states.

The DG NITDA, who was represented by Director  IT Infrastructure Solutions, Dr Usman Gambo Abdullahi  gave this directive during a courtesy visit to the Agency by a delegation from Kogi State led by the Technical Assistant to the Governor on Private Sector and Digital Economy Mr Anthony Edogbor.

The essence of the visit was to solicit for NITDA’s support in the areas of eGovernment, data-driven farming, educational technology, digital finance services, skills development etc.

Dr Abdullahi revealed that, recently the Agency was in the state as part of the artisan training, to train and empower the youths of the state as part of NITDA’s intervention programme.

He mentioned that the Agency has quite a number of intervention projects in the state and employ them to go round and find out the infrastructures that are already available and see how best they can be sustained. "As the Agency has deployed a number of interventions but the infrastructures need to be sustained."

"What we value most is to ensure that whatever is deployed on behalf of government is maximally used and sustained", he said .

Dr Abdullahi assured them that Nigeria is able to assist the state more as long as it is in line with the Agency's mandate and is geared towards actualising a Digital Nigeria.
