Governor Seriake Dickson Has Not Endorsed Any Candidate For Elective Offices - Engr Elvis Donkemezuo

My attention has been drawn to reports making the rounds that the Member Representing Yenagoa/Kolokuma-Opokuma Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Honorable Douye Diri has been going around misleading Ward Executives of the People Democratic Party in Kolokuma Opokuma LGA that the Governor of Bayelsa State, His Excellency, Honorable Henry Seriake Dickson mandated him to inform them of some candidates the Governor has endorsed for elective offices in the forthcoming legislative elections in Bayelsa Central, Yenagoa/Kolokuma-Opokuma Federal Constituency and the Two State Constituencies in Kolokuma-Opokuma Local Government Area.

According to the reports Honorable Diri reportedly claimed that the Governor has endorsed him for Senate, Professor Steve Azaiki for House of Representatives as well as Honorables Tonye Emmanuel Isenah and Wisdom Fafi for House of Assembly seats.  While I respect the person and exalted office of my elder Brother Diri, I am calling on all supporters of our great party,  the PDP from the Ward to the Senatorial District level to disregard his claims to be speaking on the Governor's behalf. As the Governor himself in all the interactions I have had with him has ensured me of his desire to create a level playing field for all aspirants in the the PDP to test their popularity so that only credible and popular candidates can emerge from the primaries. So anyone now coming to speak for the Governor when the Governor has not spoken is not Speaking truth. 

I implore Honorable Diri and all those on this journey to ride on the Governor's back to office to adhere to the Governor's expressed wishes and test their popularity in fair contests.

We must not allow our pursuit of personal interests becloud our ability to remember how  similar plots to impose unpopular Candidates in the name of the Executive Governor costed us our Assembly seats in 2011 and 2015. The same people who brought those loses upon us seem to be at work once again. 

I am therefore calling on all PDP members to stand firm by the Democratic principles that our leader,  the Governor and our Party the PDP stand for.  Don't allow anyone scam you.
