Dear Sir,
REPORT ON MURDER OF A PDP STALWART, ASSASINATION ATTEMPT ON OUR GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATE AND GENERAL THREAT TO A PEACEFUL & CREDIBLE CONDUCT OF THE OSUN STATE GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION
We wish to bring to your attention and for your very urgent and decisive action the series of criminalities being perpetrated against leaders and members of our party by agents of the All Progressive Congress as well as orchestrated plans to manipulate the State Governorship election holding on Saturday 22nd of September, 2018 in favor of the APC.
We seek your indulgence to take a very critical look at the issues here-under itemized and address them in a drastic, holistic and professional manner in order to ensure justice, fairness and sanctity of the Nigerian electoral process.
1. MURDER  OF MR. NASIRU JIMOH AJASA, A PDP STALWART AND CHAIRMAN OF NIGERIA AUTOMOBILE TECHNICIANS ASSOCIATION  ( NATA) , EGBEDORE LOCAL GOVERNMENT

On  Sunday 16th of September, 2018, armed thugs sponsored by the All Progressive Congress attacked and killed  the Chairman of Nigeria Automobile Association of Nigeria in Egbedore Local Government of Osun State who is also a prominent ward leader of the PDP in Ofatedo community, Mr. Nasiru Jimoh Ajasa. Nasiru had attended a rally of the PDP in the community on the stated date and was clad in an attire adorned with the photograph of the Governorship candidate of our party when he was killed in cold blood. Mr. Ajasa was chased from a drinking joint in Ibikunle area of Dada Estate where he had gone for a drink after a successful rally involving hundreds of other party men. This father of 3 boys and a girl was said to have been trailed by the thugs to the drinking joint and hacked down at a location close to his house in Ayo Olorun area, Opposite Grace cooking Gas in Ofatedo. As we write, there is no indication that the Police has effected any arrest of the hoodlums who perpetrated the heinous crime on this innocent man.

2. ASSASINATION ATTEMPT ON THE CANDIDATE OF OUR PARTY
In the last two weeks, there had been several attempts on the life of our candidate, Senator Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke by people suspected to be thugs on the pay-roll 0f the State Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and the APC leadership in Osun state. The attempts were manifested through coordinated attacks on the campaigns rallies of the PDP in Osogbo, Ikirun and Ede. In spite of the various complaints by our party against these acts, the police has not deemed it fit to arrest any of the culprits nor provide extra security for our candidate or at our rallies.
3. PLAN OF ARREST AGAINST PDP LEADERS
We have it on very good authority that the Governor of Osun state, in collaboration with some high-ranking police officers has concluded plans to arrest, detain and harass prominent leaders of our party beginning from today Tuesday 18th September, 2018. The list which we have sighted includes 52 names of party officials, leaders, serving and former political office holders and vote canvassers across the thirty local governments of Osun state. The plan is to use this as a way of destabilizing our party ahead of the elections and giving a free passage to the APC in its desperate attempt to disrupt the peaceful conduct of the election and manipulating the results in many local governments.
4. INFLUX OF STRANGERS INTO OSUN STATE
In the last 72-hours, we have observed a massive influx of strangers into Osun state from Lagos and some neighboring states. These strange faces in their numbers have been spotted in hotels, schools and the private residences of APC leaders. This is already creating undue tension and anxiety in many towns and villages. There is every cause to worry that these persons who were not known to be indigenes or regular residents of Osun state are being imported by the APC and the State Government to participate illegally and possibly disrupt the peaceful conduct of Saturday’s polls.
5. PLANS TO USE FAKE SOLDIERS, POLICE AND NYSC PERSONNEL
It has also come to our attention that the leadership of the APC has contracted out the sewing of fake military, police and NYSC uniforms to a firm in Lagos and Benin City. This illegal act is being coordinated by two prominent National leaders of the APC who intend to use the fake personnel to manipulate voting process, falsify results, hijack electoral materials and intimidate voters in places considered to be strong-holds of the PDP. In particular, plans have been perfected to rig the forthcoming elections in Osun East Senatorial Districts comprising the 4 local governments in Ile-Ife and the 6 in Ijesa-land. A meeting of the stated leaders of the APC and some unscrupulous officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission has been held on 5 different occasions to plan various acts of rigging, disruptions, vote-buying and general harassment of PDP members and supporters during the governorship elections.

We have decided to bring these issues to your attention today because we believe as the number one security officer in Nigeria; you should be very well bothered and concerned with the safety of lives and property of all citizens as well as the sanctity of the electoral process in every part of the country.
We are also aware of the fact that as the main election preceding the general election, the attention of the International Community is on the forthcoming election in Osun State and its peaceful and credible conduct will go a long way in determining the sustainability or otherwise of democracy in Nigeria.
We are therefore urging you sir, to take immediate actions to ensure that the perpetrators of the various crimes indicated above are apprehended and brought to justice while ensuring that the plots against the peaceful, free and fair conduct of Saturday’s governorship election are nipped in the bud.
Thank you for your attention.
Yours faithfully
SIGNED
Hon. Soji Adagunodo
Chairman, PDP, Osun state
