Masari Attends Niger's Republic 60th Independence Anniversary


The Katsina State Governor, Rt. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari yesterday attended the Niger Republic Independence celebrations anniversary at Zindar, the state of Damagara, Republic of Niger.

Katsina Media and Publicity reports that similarly, the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammad Buhari, President of the Equatorial Guinea, Teodoro obiang Nguema Mbasogo and that of Togo, Mr. Faure Nassingbe Eyandema attended the occasion.  Also in company of President Muhammadu Buhari, were the Governors of Kaduna, Nasir Ahmad Elrufai, Jigawa Badaru Abubakar and top echelon of the Nigerian Government.

Niger was colonised by France  and was granted independence on the 18th of Dec, 1958. Two years later, Nigeria gained its own from the colonial Britain. In 2005, the Government of the country dedicated the independence day as a holiday and a day to celebrate the country's freedom.

Niger Republic is a bordering Nation with Katsina State, which leads to so many bilateral ties for both economic and social development.
