Abuja Protest: Young Professionals Commends Nigeria Police

The United Young Professional has commended the Nigeria Police for its professional ways of handling the provocative and violent protest by the leadership of the Peoples’ Democratic Party on Friday at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.

While reacting to the unjust protest by the Peoples’ Democratic Party, the National Coordinator of the United Young Professionals, Adewole Kehinde said that since the Osun State Governorship Election Tribunal has been set up and the Peoples’ Democratic Party has filed its complaints against the results declared by the electoral body, INEC, we see no reason for the protest.

“It is unfortunate that those who are supposed to be Lawmakers are the Law breakers. Two different cases are already in court filed by the Peoples’ Democratic Party, so why the protest? Is it to suppress justice? Is the Nigeria Police the electoral body that conduct elections? Why leading thugs to attacks Nigeria Police at the Force Headquarters Adewole asked.

“Despite the provocative behaviour of the leadership of the PDP, the Nigeria Police personnel behaved professionally by dispersing the thugs and miscreants that stormed the Force Headquarters in other to vandalize Police properties and disturb public peace.

We must commend the Inspector General of Police for his prompt response by investigating the protest and inviting the principal actors that led the miscreant and thugs to the Force Headquarters, the statement concluded.
