Reginald Dombraye Was An Outstanding Legislator – Ibori

Late Hon. Reginald Dombraye

Chief James Onanefe Ibori has described the late Hon. Reginald Dombraye whose death was announced Tuesday as clearly the pace-setter in the State House of Assembly when he represented the Bomadi Constituency in Delta state.

Ibori said in a statement signed by his Media Assistant, Tony Eluemunor, that the late Dombraye achieved the feat of having sponsored the greatest number of private bills in the Delta State House of Assembly during my tenure as Governor; from 1999 to 2007. That feat was not a fluke as Dombraye’s bills were always well-researched and highly consequential.

Ibori said: “It is regrettable that just when Dombraye had brought in the vast experience he gained as a member of the state legislature to bear on his new duty as an Executive Assistant to the present Governor of Delta State on Security Matters, death interrupted the good services he was rendering to his state and snatched him away.

“I will never forget Dombraye’s great capacity for service to his Bomadi constituency and Delta State when he served in the State Legislature and I headed the Executive Branch. He could always be counted upon as an apostle of peace and an indefatigable servant in the cause of providing good service to Delta state”.

In conclusion, Ibori wished the late Dombraye eternal rest even as he prayed God to grant his family the fortitude to bear this great loss.
