Katsina Judiciary: Masari Declare Open The 2018/2019 Legal Year


The Katsina State Governor, Rt. Hon. Aminu Bello Masari had earlier today declared open the new legal year  2018/2019 for Katsina State Judiciary at the High Court Justice Auditorium, Sarki Abdurahman Way, Katsina.

Katsina Media and Publicity reports that Masari who explained the tremendous contribution to independence of judiciary and legislature to ensure smooth running of the Government, adding we have accepted independence of the two organs to run a transparent and accountable government that have respect for rule of law.

Earlier the Chief Justice of Katsina State, Justice Musa Danladi Abubakar appreciated the legal compliance by the Governor on ensuring independence of the arm, adding that it is attribute all the success achieved in the judiciary.

@katgovmedia reports that Danladi explained that in the last legal year, they have recruited 132 supporting staff in various cadre, also promoted 168 senior staff in various, recruited 25 senior staff and approved 15 to go for in-service training. Also the State High Courts recorded 1638 first instant cases  of which 1308 were disposed and 600 are pending.

The magistrate courts registered 28,711 civic and criminal cases of which 11,242 have been disposed and 11,191 are pending, the shariah vourts registered a total number of 78,547 cases comprising 48,750 civil and 29,797 criminal out of which 28,329 disposed living 43,632 pending 370 registered by multi door court house out of which 20 have been resolved while 18 were referred to normal courts and 150 are at various stages of mediation, councilation and resolution.
